What Causes Spider Veins?

These unsightly veins develop when blood has difficulty flowing in the right direction. This indicates a weak valve and causes blood to pool and branch out, causing that “web-like” appearance. Your genetics, age, and gender can play a significant role in the development of these veins. Being overweight or pregnant can also play a role, as both put added pressure on areas prone to developing offshoot veins, like the legs.

How Are These Issues Addressed?

Sclerotherapy used to be the go-to method for eliminating spider and varicose veins. This process involved injecting a chemical solution that collapsed the targeted vein. However, this method requires downtime and can be uncomfortable for most. ADVATx® is a non-ablative laser system that is an effective alternative to sclerotherapy. 

This laser uses two wavelengths to heat the area and collapse spider veins non-invasively. After the collapse, the body naturally absorbs them, leaving you with beautiful results.

What Can I Expect?

ADVATx® treatments are performed here at our Posh office in Reno. Several sessions may be needed to give you the best results possible. Schedule your initial consultation to assess what you can expect accurately. During your visit, we will examine the extent of your issue and schedule a treatment plan accordingly. Unlike sclerotherapy, little to no downtime is needed after a treatment session.
